THROUGH THE ARTIST EYE
Through the Artist's Eye began in Atlantic City with the goal of addressing the local issue of drug overdose by advocating for the creation of art centers in underserved neighborhoods. However, this project has grown beyond its origins to tackle a variety of pressing issues in communities across the United States.
This multimedia and interdisciplinary production is a powerful platform for artists to express the unique challenges they face in their communities. Each performance allows local artists to share their life stories, highlighting how art has impacted and, in many cases, saved them. By channeling their experiences and emotions into their art, these performers shed light on critical issues, offering a deeply personal and impactful perspective.
The beauty of this project lies in its adaptability. It addresses different challenges depending on the location, offering a prism through which both the artists and the audience can view the world—not just through their eyes, but through their souls. This shared expression emphasizes the importance of art as a vital outlet for both the young and the old, showing how crucial it is for the sanity and well-being of society. Through creativity, artists are not only pushed to think outside the box but are also empowered to make a lasting impact on their communities
